Hjördís Skírnisdóttir

My name is Hjördís (60) and I teach Geology, German and natural science at FAS. I am also taking care of foreign partnerships at the school. I live with my husband and our dog, Mikki in the  town Höfn. We have a daughter who lives in the capital Reykjavík.

I love to be outside and be in the nature and go often  hiking with our dog. We like to travel, both in Iceland and abroad. I have been several times to Finland. Our school worked with a school in Jämsä in Finland 2007 – 2008 and we also visited Helsinki. And we have been working with the school in Vaala the last three years in a Nordplus project; https://geoheritage.fas.is/.

I have also been a few times to Norway.  I have relatives close to Oslo and the school in Brønnøysund was also paticipating in https://geoheritage.fas.is/. Our experience in this project war very good and we decided to start another project and this time about natural resources in our countries.

I am also looking forward working with you in this project!
